Download URAP Data

The URAP team maintains a number of data products containing numerical data that are available for downloading. A form to access these data products is located at the bottom of this page. These data (except for the QTN data) are also available from the Ulysses Data System and the National Space Science Data Center (also has FTP access).

Data Products

144 sec averaged RAR data
These are Ascii files containing data from the RAR instrument for all of the frequency channels, including high and low band, and have been averaged over a 144 sec period. Each file contains one day of data. Documentation These files have the name: uYYMMDD.rav where YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month number, and DD is the day of the month.
10 minute averaged data
These are Ascii files that contain data for the RAR, PFR and WFA instruments and have been averaged over 10 minute periods. Each file contains one day of data. There are 8 files produced per day containing data for the RAR, PFR, WFA magnetic field, and WFA electric field for both peak and average values. Documentation These files have the name: uuraXXXXYYMMDD.uly where XXXX is one of the strings: RARA,RARP, PFRA,PFRP, WFEA,WFEP, WFBA,WFBP. YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month number, and DD is the day of the month.
Summary Plots
These files are Ascii Postscript files that contain, for each day, plots for all of the URAP instruments and instrument status flags. Documentation These files have the name: pYYMMDD.ps where YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month number, and DD is the day of the month.
Quasi-thermal Noise
These binary files contain values of plasma parameters including electron density and temperature extracted from measurements of the quasi-thermal noise signal. These files have the name: uYYMMDD.qtn where YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month number, and DD is the day of the month. Documentation

QTN data are only available for the following periods:

Get a list of files that are available for a time period.

Start date Enter date as YYYYMMDD, YYYYDOY, YYMMDD or YYDOY where YYYY is the year, YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month number (January=1, February=2, etc.), DD is the day-of-month (1-31), and DOY is the day-of-year (Jan. 1=1, Feb. 1=32, etc ).
End date Enter date as for the start date. If there are fewer than 5 digits, digits from the start date will be used to fill out the date. Eg: If start date is 19950401 and end date is 3, the end date becomes 19950403. If the start date is blank, the end date will be the same as the start date.
